STUB Vineyard & Wine Tower

Just behind the hotel, you’ll find STUB Vingaard, which was established in 2017 at ‘Skambækgården’. With its sunny, sandy, south-facing slopes down to Kalundborg Fjord, the location provides the perfect setting for growing Danish wine.

The 100-year-old water tower, which for decades collected water from the spring at the base of Tårnbakken, was converted into a ‘wine tower’ in 2020. You can now enter the tower to admire its beautiful interior, learn about the history of Skambækken—the spring, the water, Skambæk Mill, the English Wars, and Skambæk Fort—or hear about the rare flora on Tårnbakken’s slopes.

If you visit the hotel’s Restaurant Næs during your stay at Strandhotel Røsnæs, you can purchase STUB wine to enjoy with your meal.

You can visit the small wine shop in the tower and the outdoor wine bar, which is open year-round by request.

At STUB Vingaard, we produce white wines, rosés, and sparkling wines of international top quality.

You can visit our unique wine tower and sample our wines—during opening hours or by appointment. You can combine your party, meeting, or stay at Strandhotel Røsnæs and Restaurant Næs (our good neighbors) with a wine tasting at the hilltop wine tower.

The ‘Standard Tour‘ lasts approximately 2 hours and includes tasting 4 wines. Price: 195 DKK per person.

Shorter or longer tours can be arranged, and you can optionally purchase snacks or a tapas lunch.

The wine tower is open every Friday and Saturday (2-5 PM) with free tastings. In July, we are open most days.
