Nature room & Konstrup Cliffs
The Nature Room is an ideal starting point for your tour around Røsnæs. Here, you’ll find descriptions of the 13 landmarks, information about Røsnæs, and the Røsnæs Round project. There’s also a large wooden map that provides an overview of the route, helping you plan your journey.
The Nature Room is a glass building, allowing you to feel connected with nature even indoors. On cold days, you can warm up by the cozy fireplace. Outside, you can enjoy your packed meal or simply relax in the sun and admire the surrounding nature.
From the Nature Room, there are two shorter hiking routes, 2 km and 3 km, where you’ll pass the landmark Kongstrup Cliffs. The unique landscape is shaped by the area’s plastic clay and glacial activity during the last ice age. In the 1930s, it was discovered that the plastic clay could be used as an insulator. Clay was mined from the cliffs, transported by rail cars, and shipped from Copenhagen’s South Harbor. In 1949, a Leca factory was built near the Nature Room, producing expanded clay until 1981.
