Maderne

Maderne is a natural area near Mademosen, located 350 meters north of the Nature School, and is one of the 13 Landmarks on the Røsnæs Round route. Originally a small bay, Maderne was cut off from the sea due to land uplift and is now partially overgrown, forming a marshland. A footbridge has been built across Mademosen, and in spring, you can get close to the rare klokkefrø (tree frog) and enjoy a unique concert of their calls.

You can access the area from the Nature School by following the path north, just west of the parking lot. Bring a picnic basket and swimwear, as it’s possible to swim just north of Maderne.
